We are glad we stopped at Big Mac’s. The service was excellent and people friendly. The catfish and okra was better than average. The beans were too sweet. The sausage was good. The building is understated and the bathroom could use an update.
Stopped here on way back to Shreveport La because the reviews were really good. We almost turned around because of the way it looked outside. DO NOT TURN AWAY!! The food was really good the beans were great coleslaw was fresh and the brisket was yummy. Only thing is the portions are not plenty for the price you pay. But def decent barbecue.
This place is easy to miss, but they had the best barbecue I've had in a while. The cuts of brisket i received were a little heavy on the fat, but the meat was extremely tender and very flavorful. The turkey was perfectly smoked and seasoned. All of the sides were absolutely perfect; fried okra, baked beans and Mac and cheese. Even the slice of bread that it came with was good. It's way out of the way from where I live, but I'd happily make a special trip just to eat here, again. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Little "hole in the wall" restaurants are usually some of the very best, and this is definitely one of them. Very comfortable atmosphere and very attentive servers.
Amazing food! Even better service! People were so friendly and the food was the best! Highly recommend the loaded brisket fries, turkey sandwich and brisket Mac and cheese! Good place to try while on a road trip!
Excellent food & service. Our waitress was very friendly and had a great attitude. There were 5 of us and we all got different things from bacon cheeseburger to catfish to smoked pork and brisket and everyone really liked their food. Nice sized portions. The fries are hand cut and were good. The banana pudding was fantastic. I highly recommend this place.
I had the chicken fried steak and it was real steak and not just ground up hamburger. The waitress's was very nice and come to find out my eyes were not seeing double as the waitress's were twins. The price was reasonable for my real steak meal. I will have to come back here.
We LOVED the hand-cut fries which were soft in the middle yet not greasy—hard to find this perfect combo. We also LOVED the Bobcat Burger which comes with 2 homemade 1/4# patties normally (I requested just one) & a nice slice of brisket with the burnt ends attached. D R O O L ! I also enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich with slaw that I dumped right on top. The sauce is too sweet for me but that’s the case most of the time. The sweet tea was perfectly sweetened & is also just right ordered as 1/2 sweet. Looking forward to making this my meal of choice in-between DFW & NEA. I love the charm of the old-school inner & outer—quintessential hidden gem feature.
Polite staff Cozy funky tables. Food was quick. Fish - 2 piece was good Potato salad great! Coleslaw was bad like OLD smelly. Brisket good but had a few fat spots. Baked beans good Fried okra good
